Dr. Saksena completed her MBBS & MS (General Surgery) from GR Medical College Gwalior (1984 - 1991) and did surgical residency from Batra Hospital, New Delhi (1992 - 1995). In 1995, she travelled to Germany and obtained training in laparoscopic and gastrointestinal surgery in Klinikum Grosshadern, Munich from Dr. Thomsen. She returned to India in 1996 and over the last 15 years has developed a practice exclusively dedicated to laparoscopic and thoracoscopic surgery. In 2009, she was awarded the prestigious "Fellowship in Minimal Access Surgery" from the Association of Minimal Access Surgeons of India at Baroda.
